Chapter – 1. Sentence

 Definition:– A sentence is a group of words which express Complete meaning.

Now look at examples:- 

1. The dog barks at night 

2. Boys make kites.

3. India is a Country.

4. He is a boy.

5. I have a big home.

★ According to structure, it is divided into two parts:–

1. Subject 

2. Predicate

1. Subject:- About whom something is said is called subject.

Example:– a. India is a country.

Here, India is a subject.

b. He is a boy.

Here, he is a subject.

C. I have a big home.

Here, I am a subject.

2. Predicate:- What is said about a subject is called a predicate.

Example:– a. India is a country.

Here,  ‘is a country ' is a predicate.

b. I have a big home.

Here, ‘ is a boy is a predicate.

C. I have a big home.

Here, ‘have a big home’ is a predicate.
